Best Travel Android Apps

I really appreciate my smart phone when traveling. I usually use Google Maps and Co-pilot Live when there is no internet. I also use a cool app calld We Camp Here to find campgrounds and another Google app called Find Places Near Me. Also use Trivago and Rain Alarm. What does everyone else find useful for travel?

A motorcycle. Seriously, I don't camp, but I have the Best Western hotels app. I use a gps for maps and routing. I also have an app for tracking gas mileage.

We used to use a good sam park book. tons of campgrounds ,if you camp that is.

At least with camping you do not have to worry about bed bugs. Just bears!

I use Rainy Days..a very nice radar map for rain. Nice to see its direction so you can adjust.

I used to use Co-Pilot but switched to one called Sygic for Nav especially when there is no data. It is much easier to use and there are ways to take a map from Google Maps on the computer into the program so you can plan custom routes.

I use a program called Real Time GPS 2 to send my location back to a website they own. Anyone with the link can see where you are...and see you are still moving and not dead in a ditch. Makes the wife happy on my long solo trips. Also handy when you are following someone, you get home you can pull the whole route for future reference.

I use Yelp and Urbanspoon for find food.

And last I use Google Play Music for tunes. 10 bucks a month I can download and keep hundreds of songs on my phone..an aux port to the Kaw Stereo and I don't need a data connection.

The 3 apps I use on the road are

Intellicast - weather has maps and good forecasts (generally)

TripAdvisor - Great for food and lodging. Haven't been disappointed in the restaurant part of the reviews.

GasBuddy - Although most GPS units have gas stations, this app will give you prices if someone has entered them in the last 2 or 3 days.

If I'm traveling, Google Translate is a must-have, especially when I'm in a country where I don't speak the language. It can even translate signs and menus with your camera. I also like using TripIt to keep my itineraries organized. Having all your flight and hotel details in one place is a lifesaver.
For road trips, GasBuddy helps find the cheapest gas nearby, and if you're into exploring, Komoot is great for hiking and cycling routes. I've been to Branson, Missouri, and stayed at a resort there. The resort had everything we needed for a comfortable stay, and it was close to all the local attractions.
