no clutch
Tim has a 99 nomad He removed the clutch to jog it .He removed the clutch basket all at one time When he put it back together the engine and gear are fine but has no clutch. He put the basket and friction plates in all at one time to my understanding. He said he put grease on the torque springs and they should be in there right He said it will go in gear but the lever is hard and when he lets the lever out it dies. When I did mine I took and put it back a piece at a time.Any help would be appreciated He is suppose to be signing up here soon Thanks

Perhaps the push rod is not sitting properly when he assembled everything, or the washers that go behind the spring. I had a similar problem once and that was it.

With the engine cover off, but everything else in place, it's a good idea to test the clutch for feel and function, with the engine OFF.

It is not always possible to test things going back tog ether, but when you can, and you can here, it's a wise idea. Your buddy found that out the hard way, doing double labor.
It takes more time to check and test things, but it's less time, than double labor, and with that sick in the gut feeling. In this case your buddy is lucky that the long thin push rod didn't get bent.
