The NHL has come up with some rule changes for the upcoming season. Here is a link to the changes.

The NHL has rules?? How much simpler can things be? Try to get the puck in the net by beating up as many of the opposite team as possible.

Seems simple enough.

Interesting, if I read 1.8 correctly goaltenders will have a bit more room to play the puck.

Probably because they made the net smaller last year.

They did? I guess I missed that. That's BS. The goals become twice their size with all the equipment they wear. Back in the day, it was a little more basic. I can remember playing without a mask.

It was only the depth of the net that got smaller. Made for a little more room behind the net

I am glad to see them implement penalties for diving. I guess this means that Canadiens will finally have to learn how to PLAY hockey in order to win.

Great video. Bobby Orr in his prime. He's 66 now and still in good shape.

Well rule 57 about tripping makes it easier for the ref. If attacking player goes down it's a penalty. I used to like it when a defenseman skating his ass off to get back and dove. As long as it was puck first there was no penalty when the forward went down. Oh well

That section bothers me. They should be able to block the puck any way that they can.
