Kris and Charlie's Excellent Adventure
Met up with Charlie a sunny but chilly morning today and rode to Greg's (schoeney's) place in Vancouver, where he had a great BBQ lunch all prepared! From there we took a lazy run through the Columbia River Gorge, stopping at places like Crown Point and Multnomah Falls for photo ops. We made it into Redmond, OR just after 6:00, our stop for the night. Gonna be cool in the morning, but no rain...there was none today either. Here are a few photos from the day...

Wow, that's a lot of luggage . . . Good thing Tricia stayed home. Or is she in one of those bags? ;D
Your moon shine got some company today. They still have an empty spot on the shelf. Good thing we got the last one when we did,

I'm sure you'll have a good time you guys.
And Scott, you can still come up for the rally you know. Living in a rain forest tends to keep things green.

Well, after parting with Greg, we got out of Redmond to a sunny cool morning and didn't get far before stopping at Lava Butte National Monument, right off Hwy 97. Got some cool pics of the lava flows and some great views of Mt Bachelor. At La Pine we took the road WAY less traveled (31) southbound around Silver Lake. This was a cold, windy ride as we covered mile after mile of ranch country with nothing around for miles. There was a great little lunch stop out there in the middle of nowhere though, and the break from the wind and cold came at a good time.
Later we came back onto 395 to Alturas before heading west on 299 for the last 80 miles into Susanville on 139. Problem was, we had been flirting with rain most all day and it finally found us, making our cold ride even more challenging while at the same time making a mess of our bikes. We spent most of the day in and out of 5000' elevation, and people were telling us it snowed there yesterday! Tomorrow looks better for our run across Nevada on "America's Loneliest Road"...Hwy 50 to Ely. I'm guessing Charlie is gonna break out his plastic when he gets home and buy some heated gear...!! Anyways...I added some more pics from today to the album, but they load in reverse, so the first ones you see are the last ones taken in the day...goofy.... More tomorrow... http://s374.photobucket.com/albums/o...view=slideshow
