Hotel info for the 2018 rally

We have chosen a motel.
It is The Cabot Trail Motel.
http://www.cabottrailmotel.com/2013/index.php
Due to popularity of the area we are not able to reserve or block rooms. At this posting, there are 10 queen bed rooms @ $119 a night and 15 doubles @$129 a night available.
Cancelation is 48 hrs notice.
We urge you not to wait to book as they will be gone quickly. Some rooms have mini fridges and they have a few extra fridges that they can put in some rooms if you request one when booking. They are presently closed but both telephone and email is checked regularly. Book by phone directly 902-295-2580 ( no expidia or similar ). If no answer, leave your contact info on the answering machine or leave it by email info@cabottrailmotel.com
The owners name is Cathy .
Don’t forget to mention you are with the VBA.
Please reply to this post when you have booked with name and number of people so we have a running tally of the number of people attending.
Thanks,
Norm, Tim and Tom

Norm, this is "Ross Chess, I am coming but haven't booked a room yet. (just a headcount of 1) Had some brief electronic contact with Donnie (think you are talking to him also?) He might come and might rent a bike for that period. Offered to split one of the double rooms with him to offset the bike rental cost. I will be coming from out west and thru Michigan then Canada so should come pretty close to you and some of the rest of your gang so when things more nailed down, would like to talk about meeting up somewhere in Quebec and riding the rest of the way in together. Will probably make hotel arrangement in next week or two but waiting to hear what Donnie has to say. Was going to offer same to Guy as have shared rooms with both but with all of you doing the Husband/Wife thing I am guessing there will be two of them also.

Hey Ross, I will add you to the head count and post it once you guys have made the motel arrangements. Guy does not hang out much on here and hasn’t been to a rally in a few years, darn goldwing riders! you might contact him directly. There are others that will be sorting out motel arrangements too so I imagine finding a roomie may not be too hard. The trick will be not to wait too long as besides other individuals booking, the area is popular with bus tours and while there are lots of motels, one tour booking at our motel will wipe out all the available rooms. As for joining up for the ride down, we will figure out routes and who is leaving from when and where as this progresses.

Hi Norm & Ross!
Just came on to have a look at how the rally is coming along! Sure wish I could join you guys, but the wife and I and another couple will be going out East this Summer plus I have a wedding to in Calgary in August. Norm, should you wish to get together for a day ride, please let me know!

Safe rally!

Hi Guy, not even thinking of bike riding yet, roads are bare, but full of sand. Still riding snowmobiles. Did a 340km loop last Thursday and trails were mid winter conditions which means super smooth. Kinda funny QC has a reputation for some of the best snowmobile trails and conditions but some of the worst road conditions in North America. I don’t see getting the bike out till nearer the end of April. Keep in touch.

They had 25 rooms available as of this posting.
7 are spoken for now.
If you are planning on going, I would get a room booked before they are gone. We are not the only ones booking at that motel.

You are right Tim, geez did I just put that in writing that I agree with Top Cat?
I am aware of at least one other room booked since we started booking by a bike rider independent of us for the same dates as us.
