NW Meet, Greet and Ride

Finally...some awesome riding weather showed up this past weekend. I managed to get in about 120 miles with the wife Saturday afternoon, then Sunday I rode to Lacey where I met fellow KawaNOW member Charlie (Ballast) Krogh.

We sat for some breakfast and learned what we could about each other before hitting the highway. Charlie is about my age and come to find out, we lived very close to each other a number of years back.

Anyways...I had planned a route up through the Kitsap Peninsula that had every kind of road one could wish for in a good day ride.. ! We stopped briefly at Belfair State Park and took a few photos...

And if you ever wondered how small this world can be....check this out. While waiting at the Kingston Ferry Dock with several other bikes....a 2006 Black Nomad pulls in right behind us...!!

With outstreched hands and ear to ear grins, we make fast introductions and quickly inform our new friend about KawaNOW and all the good things to be had here. As our ferry arrived and the bikes were coming off...another Blue/Silver Nomad roared by us in the opposite direction....(sigh)....

Anyways....while on the ferry I started to remember a fellow from school who had the same name as our new friend. I had to ask...and would you believe it was the same guy I went to Junior and Senior High School with.... !! I have not seen him in 30+ years....but how cool is that.... ??

At any rate....it was a two thumbs up kinda day. Charlie is a good guy and now I know for sure I can stand to ride all the way to Custer with him.... !
