November Wisconsin riding
Strange twist of weather this year versus last year. Last Nov 2019 temps were highs of 20s, lows nearing zero. This Nov 2020, mid to high 60s, very mild wind. I got out for about 60 miles today, plan to do likewise tomorrow, and hopefully each day Saturday and Sunday.
Today I rode to Doc's Harley Davidson, had a GREAT Blues Burger at the Timeline Saloon, ogled bikes, checked out the critters (gators, parrots, other critters). Nice two lane back roads ride home on a full tummy. Happy guy.

Got out today for a late breakfast ride. After some good eats I wandered the river roads and hills near Green Bay for about 70 miles total. The last ten miles though, were in 3rd gear. Something with the shift linkage I think, as I would lift the toe shift to go from 1st and up and the shifter would stay high. I could push it down but it really didn't shift up. So I nursed it home in 3rd.
No biggie, I'll get some miles on my BMW R1200RT tomorrow and Sunday. Its my birthday Sunday so the weather is telling me "Happy Birthday, ride on!" As far as my 1600 Classic it was due for a teardown this winter anyway. I bought it back in 2018 for $1200, clear title, lots of goodies on it, really clean bike with 29,000 miles, but 2nd gear didn't hold. So I bought it knowing I'd yank the engine and tear it down to fix 2nd gear. So this ride today confirms its time has come in my shop. By spring it'll be on the road again, but with: VN1500 Mean Streak heads, Mean Streak throttle bodies, Mean Streak tranny 1st through 4th gears and 5th will be the stock Classic, 17" Mean Streak wheels from and back, Vance and Hines True Duals, Baron intake, Power Commander, cruise control, frame mounted fairing (stereo, bluetooth, MP3, LED lights), Yamaha XV1100 front fender, VN1700 rear fender, Nomad bags. It'll be a whole new bike for 2021.

i put my bike up for storage 1st week of November then came that nice warm spell, got the bike off the lift and went for a long ride, now I have to drain the gas out of the carb bowl again, a cup of seafoam in gas tank, fill-er up then drain the carb bowl, then go into my hibernation mode for winter
