2014 US North East –Canada East joint rally news


Hi everyone we have been working to put together the details of the second joint North East US-Canada East Rally and finally have the details for you.

This year we will be holding it in Lincoln New Hampshire at the Mtcoolidge Motel

The owner, Kevin, has given us a VBA discount, make sure to mention VBA when reserving. This is a small Motel 20 rooms and two cabins so We urge you to make your plans early as August is a busy time for them and rooms will fill up fast.
The dates and schedule will be: Check in Monday August 4th 2014, group ride Tuesday August 5th, free day Wednesday august 6th, group ride August 7th and check out Friday August 8th.

We have been working with Tom Maziarz (Tomm on the forum ) as he knows the area well. He has put together a wonderful information package which if you PM either CNC or my self FISH we will be happy to send to you by email.

Hey Sly, I am a pretty firm maybe at this point. I will be in Idaho for rally that ends July 25th. Will be firming up plans in 1st part of Jan. Once I know for sure that I will head east after that rally I would for sure want to a share room. If someone else comes along before I know for sure is OK but if you want to pencil me in on your dance card that would be great. Will know in about a month for sure.

Hey Ross and Sylvain, they have two cabins also with 3 rooms/ 150 a night. Might be a good option for a 3 way split.

Smokey, got your PM and certainly we could share. But I am still a maybe (see below) so you perhaps should go ahead with you arrangements and lock things in. If I can work things out and someone else hasn't jumped into your room by then I would split with you.

All - Here's my situation: I will be on way home from 13,000 mile trip (NC to Ark to Wisc to Mi to IA to Montana to Calgary to Vancouver BC to Pacific Coast of Washington to ID and NW/SW/West Canada Rally then heading east to Sturgis) I will overnight in Sturgis SD on July 30/31. Then 700 miles on 31st to Daughter in Iowa. Leave her on 1st Then 600 Miles on to Son in Indiana. Was going home (680 miles from son) then. If I go to NE rally I leave son on 2nd Then 600 miles NE to NY, and leave NY on 3rd and 400 miles to Lincoln NH to arrive Sunday the 3rd. IF all is perfect! One day to spare as things really start on Monday the 4th.
My biggest two problems are that I would have about 17,000 miles into trip if I add that loop before I go back to NC. Wing tires wouldn't do that. Front might but will need a new rear at 13-15000 miles. Hence the 13,000 mile trip with out this loop. So a tire change and two oil changes and 3-4,000 extra miles on the road and 8 added days in Hotels are maybe more than I can swing $. Us old retired guys have budgets. I am working on it as would love to see ya all. Will be spring (March here) when I know.

I still plan a trip up the east coast and into Canada to hit Quebec and get up east to see Donnie and do Cabot's trail. It may have to wait till 2015 tho? Will keep you in the loop. Remember, I am on the way to the way southern regions of the US so anyone headed that way drop me a line as I have spare rooms and cold beer.

I was down there in 2009 or 2010 and that's where I first meet him. I keep meaning to go back but something always gets in the way of my free time.
