Can I use Seafoam every fill up?
I know we have had several conversations about Seafoam but would it be a waste of time adding some every tank full?
The reason I ask is for me it seems to help Pinging ALOT. If I do not add it frequently the pinging increases. I know my next step will be to get a Fuel Processor once my budget gets better. Thanks

I was told by a mechanic NOT to run Seafoam all the time.
His logic seemed sound. The active ingredients in Seafoam are chemical stripping agents which get rid of carbon, varnish, etc but are also caustic to some rubber components. It offers very little in the way of lubrication but does have an octane boost effect and definitely reduces pinging. With that said, I just love the stuff and use it in my motorcycles, trucks, lawn equipment and even our fire trucks. What he did suggest was to run Seafoam through about once a quarter and use Marvel Mystery Oil (MMO) in between. MMO wont damage rubber components. It has a lesser cleaning effect but much higher lubricating effect. It does also seem to increase the temps at which I notice pinging but frankly I don't really have much of an issue with this. My 2 cents worth. PS: nothing replaces a good throttle body cleaning. Its like magic.

A lot of the threads should die, but they don't.

I use that Lucas Oil stuff in the tall skinny plastic bottle 3 or 4 times a year. CA only has 91 octane and it took a Dobeck unit to really cure the ping.
