Tail light wire
I need to tap the tail light wire for a turn on lead. Before I go testing a bunch of wires, can anyone tell me which one I need (and where)?

Under your seat you will see the wiring going into the rear fender. Follow this back to the plug and you will see a R or R/blk wire in the bunch. This is the wire providing + to the tail light. Use this one on term 86 of the relay and a ground on 85 (Coil of the relay). Hope this helps

Chris there is a wiring diagram in the 1600 shop manual. It's in the garage section as a PDF file

I must have over looked that as that was the first place I looked. Hmm...I think my eyes are getting old.

If you go to the taillight wiring harness connector under the seat, you'll find it is a 6-pin connector, only 5 pins are used. One is obviously ground, that leaves one pin each for tail/license, RT, LT, and brake. The pin that reads +12v when the key is on and 0v when the key is off is the taillight.
