Voyager GoPro mounting problems
OK, I know some of you guys use GoPro cameras while riding. Have you found any place on the bike to mount it or are you putting the camera on your helmet?
I'm tentatively looking at one of the engine guards. If anyone has tried that location are you happy with it and do you prefer the right or the left guard? If you are using an engine guard, is there a better bar mount than the one from GoPro? Thanks for any help, Ed

I had a Tachyon OPS camera mounted to the left engine guard and wasn't happy with the video quality. It was sitting to low. If I angled it up the video looked like it was filming from a lower position. It needs to be higher. I have a fairing on my Nomad so the handlebars are out of the question. I have a machine shop making me a bracket for the left side windshield screw.

That sounds promising. Can you post a pic when you get the new bracket? Ed

With my tachyon camera I tried it mounted to the handle bars, engine guards, bag guards, on my chest and my helmet. I prefer the handle bars with a ram mount. That way if I'm not using it I just bend it back behind the shield and I can see if its on or off even with the rain cover on.

I mounted mine on the top of the fairing back toward the windshield. the mount is the only thing that stays on and with the top of the fairing being black, you can hardly notice the mount.

That looks like a pretty vibration free location. Do you have any experience removing the sticky pads from the bike's finish? GoPro recommends using a hair dryer but I'm concerned about what that will do to the paint. Just wondering what the long term effect might be. Ed

On my 1500 nomad I mounted it on the clutch reservoir. You might have seen a couple of the videos I took from that position. You can see it gets the headlight in its view. I might try a different point after I get the extra attachment pads that I ordered.

I used the suction cup mount on top of my saddlebag for this video.

Thanks for all the input. I'm slowly getting this thing figured out but still haven't settled on a mount location.

Hi
When I had my Nomad, I had mounted the GoPro on the clutch reservoir also, I did the same on my Goldwing. Enjoy your GoPro! :)
