Waving Windows 10

I just made the switch to Win 10. So far not too bad a learning curve,, It is set up a lot like Win 8.1. Maybe 90/95 % Win 8.1 A few tips I found posted! What have you found? What have you done to tweak Win 10? FYI I am a Tech Tard so any help you can offer would be great :)

I didn't download 8 because I heard so much bad reviews on it,
and both the techs I have work on my computers said it was a crap system.
Microsoft tried to fix it with patches but people still hated it.
Then Microsoft skipped windows 9 to distance themselves from the disaster of 8
Now both my techs say W 10 is geared toward the Iphone and Ipad people who love the tech stuff. I am old school and own a phone that is one step above a flip phone
So they said I would be better off staying with my Windows 7. Works well enough for me.

Windows 10 isn't geared towards the iPhone. They just made it so that Windows 10 developers can port their apps over to Android and iPhone. It's just a small piece of Windows 10 features.

Windows 10 does have some issues that will probably be take care of in the first update.

I use a Mac with Windows 7 installed as a second operating system.

Unless you're a real techie or need the latest operating system there really is no reason to upgrade.

I have a crappy High speed net connection. Joys of living rural :O These 2 pages from Kim Komando are pretty good to check out! She writes for PC magazine I believe and had a talk show on Saturday! SO I trust the info from her :)

I don't mind it. It does what I need it to do. However I can't sign into Ebay using Edge so I have to use chrome.

I was using Win 7 and updated to 10. Pretty simple switch and easy enough to use.

I have a Windows 8 system and a 7 system. I upgraded the Windows 8, which I hated, one first. I like windows 10 much better and went ahead and upgraded the 7 system too. To me 10 just feels like a slightly smoother Windows 7 that has been nicely reconfigured to handle contemporary uses of photos, video, music etc. I like it, and the download upgrade was simple.

My personal laptop (as opposed to my work laptop) crapped the bed on Friday. I couldn't even reload windows 7 on it, so I went out on Saturday and bought a new laptop. My choices were Windows 8.1 or Windows 10. I chose Windows 10. It was really difficult to navigate at first, but I am getting used to it now and it's not so bad. Going from 7 to 10 was a big change.

I deal with Unix systems Bill. I haven't supported Windows for 20 years or so. Windows 95 had just come out the last time I had to support it.

Oh, okay. My bad. CORRECTION: CJ is NOT an I.T. professional so take that into consideration when reading his opinions.
There, I fixed it for ya buddy!

I am an IT professional, I just stay as far away from windows as I can. if I had the choice of buying a new laptop with Windows 7, I would have done that. I am not an early adopter of technology. I have worked in the industry long enough to know not to jump on the first release of anything.

You can install Classic Shell. Anyway, I installed it on one of my work desktops. It's ok. I had Win 7 on it before. It broke the validation on Office 2013 and the RSAT didn't work and there's no replacement yet. :( There's always virtual box. I still prefer Mac OS.
