Review - Grasshopper's Backrest
Long-story-short: Awesome! How I ever got along without one, I have no idea.
Took about 7-10 days to get here, simple to install - about 5 minutes with a 8mm wrench. Very comfortable, great build quality. Thanks Grasshopper! Can't wait to take a long ride and try it out! Pics:

Review - Grasshopper's Backrest
I love mine. I also added the 2" risers from chuckster to. I am 6'2" and it is more comfy.
Enjoy.

I'm also looking risers. I keep hearing about Chuckster's. Anyone got a link?

Review - Grasshopper's Backrest
I like mine much, much better since I bent it to the same incline as the passenger backrest. I put it in a vice to bend it rather than stress the single small bolt.

Two questions:
1) How does the passenger like it? I assume it doesn't get in the way. 2) Do you notice the bracket if you ride without the backrest? By the picture, it looks like it might interfere with the backbone. Thanks, Scott |

Review - Grasshopper's Backrest
Scott,
I have a Grashopper backrest as well. The backrest does not interfere with the passenger once seated but she needs to thread her leg between the driver and passenger backrests when mounting the bike. If my wife can do it easily anyones can. I suppose you could remove it (it just slides easily in/out) before mounting but that would mean passenegr mounts first...not a good idea. The bracket is black and blends in very well when the backrest is not on the bike. You need to be looking for it to notice it.

Review - Grasshopper's Backrest
Scott,
I forgot. I do not notice the bracket on my tailbone when the bracket is removed...but I love the feel of the backrest so I never remove it.

Review - Grasshopper's Backrest
Quote:
Ann took a ride with me yesterday for a few miles to lunch. She likes it. it actually kinda wedges her in and keeps her from bouncing out of the seat over the more bumpy roads we ride on. She also had no issues climbing on board with it installed. The bracket doesn't interfere with my seating position at all if the backrest itself is removed. I don't notice it being there at all. It's bent down in the picture because I was playing with the position (moving it forward a bit). I bent it back up after finding I didn't like it. So it doesn't push down on the back of the seat as pictured above. Great product! But I should've asked to make it about an inch taller. Ah well. ;)
