Oil Pressure Gauge.
I plan on installing an oil pressure gauge on my 2005 Nomad this winter. I would appreciate any help from those who have done this. Like which gauges you used, price and where to get them. Thanks for the help.

Oil Pressure Gauge.
Ive installed gauges and I used some from Princess Auto, they are 2" electric gauges. Any brand will work, as long as thay are electric. For the oil gauge I installed a brass T fitting into the crankcase where the oem oil sending unit is threaded. Then you install the original sending unit as well as the new one supplied with the gauge. This enables you to still have the oil light function as before and the gauge to function as well.
I think I have a pic of the setup that I will try to post.

Here is a better pic of what is involved. The oem sending unit is located at the back of the crankcase near the oil filter.

Oil Pressure Gauge.
i agree, use an electric gauge. i use autometer gauges on my bikes. you will need a 0- 100 psi cuz the kaw will hold over 75 psi when cold. autometer makes a nice chrome mounting cup. autometer gauges aren't cheap but they are the best. you can order on line from jegs. bill

When my bike is cold the pressure reads 80 to 100psi. when its warmed up at highway speeds its usually around 60psi, and idles 10 to 20psi.

Is the cup below the one you are referring to? If it is, how did you mount it on the bars? Or did you? Thanks http://www.jegs.com/i/Auto-Meter/105...oductId=745207
