Givi trunk

I am planning a road trip for June. Mrs. B. is going with me. That's good. Mrs. B. is a notorious overpacker. That's bad. Mr. B. is a notorious cheapskate.

I'm gonna need a trunk. I have a Givi E50 Maxia that I have had since the Lincoln administration. It has been on several bikes.

I am thinking of replacing the passenger backrest and luggage rack with a wompus rack, then drilling it to accept a Givi mount. Then just attach the E50 to it. Not very pretty, but I think it is the best option I have for the money, since the only thing I would have to buy is the wompus rack. I would have a hard, locking trunk that can be easily detached and carried into a motel room. I could also add lighting to the trunk for additional safety.

Has anyone else added a Givi trunk? How did it work out? Got pics?

thanks
