Sorry for the delayed response - I was out to Mardi Gras and Bike Week. I have carved gun stocks, antlers (moose & deer, have caribou in the shop, but still haven't got around to those). Using a turbine, I've carved an eagle head into my Buck knife's blade (I read somewhere that Buck at the time had the hardest knife steel, so I figured if I could do one of those, I could do them all). Have tinkered with designs on Emu, Rhea and Ostrich shells. These days, I'm trying to wrap up a couple of wildlife carvings that were started a while back, while also experimenting with soapstone. I used to compete in the Canadian Wildlife Carving Championships, and have been a guest artist at the Epcot Center's Canadian Pavilion, but got away from it for a while in order to concentrate on work. Retirement allowed me to get back into it.
