the Vermont General Store
In my travels in and around the green mountain state I have stopped many times at a rural general store. You can buy a hunting or fishing license at most and you also bring your deer or turkey here to be weighed and tagged. Many have a deli and some even have pizza or other items like hot soup, steamed hot dogs and hot coffee and you can usually find what you need in a pinch. Here are some pics of just a few that I have been to.
The Barnard General Store. It is a mix of rural appeal and high-end gourmet goodies. This is my favorite stopping place for coffee and a scone. It is a 17 mile ride by paved road from where I live, but only 10 miles, 7 of which is dirt road otherwise. The Teago General Store in South Pomfret This store is only about 6 miles south of where I live. This is Messier's General Store in East Randolph, VT It is about 30 miles to the north. This is the North Tunbridge General Store. It is about 18 miles to my north. Login or Register to Remove Ads |
