Mean Streak gauges on a Classic?

I am planning a frame mounted Pacifico Shadow fairing for the conversion of my Classic to a "vintage" Vaquero style touring bike. I have two Mean Streak fuel tanks I bought for $30 that I would use to make a larger capacity fuel tank by using the bottom half of one with the top half of the other, with an overlap to increase the tank height by at least an inch.

I may also then go for gauges mounted in the fairing rather than on the tank top like on the Classic. So finally the question. Will a gauge set from a Mean Streak plug into the wiring harness for the Classic? Would the speedo woirk with the connection into the Classic harness? I know there is no tach on a Classic so that is an issue. My Classic does have an aftermarket tach on it so I may be able to wire the MS tach to the same connection.

Oh, and if possible, can the miles on the odometer be set to match the miles I have on my Classic?
