Cheri,

Glad to hear that you made it out ok in that situation. Personally, I would attach a machine gun to my bike if I could. That would really take out the problem.

On a second note, since you drove thru a weigh station, How much does the 900 weigh??? ::) ::) ::)

Sorry, couldn't help myself. ;)

Now you are a little bit smarter. I commute and try to keep in mind always: you are probably in someone's blind spot.

I try never to cruise side-by-side. We can only lose.

My ideal is to stay slightly behind a car to my left or right. That way, even if they abruptly come into my lane, it just looks a lot worse than it is. I can beep and gesture--but I was never in any real danger.

Glad you made it.

Good job, do everything you can to make the ride safer. Air Horn. High Viz clothing. Pay lots of attention and be ready to speed up / slow down / steer away. Occasionally I would like to replace my Stebel horn with a rocket launcher. After watching a dummazz pull out in front of a fire engine (with lights and siren going) today I realize that you can't always overestimate the obliviousness of some drivers.

You say that only because you've probably haven't experienced I405 in the Bellevue, WA area at just about any time of the day. Now that is a life-changing experience...on the Nomad and sometimes even in the car.

Actually I was looking at how much you were really packing. Take the total weight of the bike on the scale minus the weight of the bike minus your weight (couldn't be much more than 100 lbs) gives us the weight of stuff you packed. ;)

YIKES! I am SO SORRY!!! I know that I was blessed to have had that truck stop driveway there, otherwise, I would have gone into the guard rail myself. This is something you hear about but never think will happen to you...or at least I never thought it would. Like you, I ride even more cautiously than before.
