Krambonz BBQ in Tellico Plains, TN. Best BBQ anywhere. Run by a biker couple, huge portions, and nothing but Q from their smokehouse out back. Right on the corner of the cherohala skyway.
Filling station Deli - Bryson City, NC - Homemade breads (atleast 8 different varieties), and huge sandwiches that can feed 2 for subway or less prices. Owner is a biker and a real cool guy. Soda Pops old fashioned ice cream parlor - Bryson City, NC - Right next door to Filling station and a an amazing place to get some homemade icecream milkshakes. Right now he has seasonal flavors in, and if you are near there I would recommend his seasonal flavor the pumpkin pie cheesecake ice cream. It's amazing. Amos BBQ - Ballground, GA - Amazing BBQ biscuits for breakfast. Scott's Walk up BBQ - Cartersville, GA - Some of the Best BBQ Pork around. $5 deal that gets you a nice BBQ pork sandwich, chips, and a drink. If you are there on Friday he has Beef Brisket that is amazing, but only on friday's. Aunt Sue's Country Corner - Pickens, SC - This is on Scenic 11 and is an amazing place. Amazing good home country cooking. Strawberry Hill USA - Chesnee, SC - This place has homemade icecream made out of the berries and peaches they grow right outside at their farms. It's a huge patch and orchard. Amazing peach and strawberry ice cream for a cheap price. Great on a hot day.

A few from my recent road trip. I wouldn't hesitate to stay at any one of them in the future.
Best Western Desert Aire 1021 S. White Sands Blvd. Alamogordo, NM 88310 Very nice, right off US-70. Lots of places to eat within walking distance. Large room with a flat screen TV, and a very comfortable king size bed. Best Western Whitton South 3950 Ridgemont Drive Abilene, TX 79606 Great motel in a good location close to lots of places to eat and easy freeway access. They offered to let me park my bike in front of the lobby for the night. Sleep Inn & Suites 6915 I-40 West Amarillo, TX 79106 Nice motel close to I-40. Had a great complimentary hot breakfast. Only drawback was no decent dining within walking distance. I didn't feel like riding to eat, so I ordered a pizza and had it delivered. Super 8 Motel 1121 Frontage Rd. NW Socorro, NM 87801 This is right off the I-25 freeway and right next door to a steak house! Can't beat that. My room was very nice and the rates were good. Offered to let me park my bike in front of the lobby.

http://koa.com/ and http://www.bestwestern.com/rewards/ are usually very good options for accommodation. Bestwestern offers discounts for H-D riders and Nomad riders qualify, too!
http://www.outback.com/ and http://www.redlobster.com are safe choices, we've never been disappointed. Our favorite places listed by States and Provinces: Washington:
Arizona:
South Dakota:
No place like home and we rarely eat outside. When we do, we enjoy eating at the following restaurants: http://www.kegsteakhouse.com http://www.burgerheaven.ca/ http://www.pajos.com probably the best fish and chips in the Greater Vancouver area

They have a reward program that anyone can sign up: http://www.bestwestern.com/rewards/
And when you check in, just tell them that you are a rider and inquire about the H-D discount. Most of the front desk personnel don't care about what you ride, (my wife rides a Suzuki C50 and I used to ride a Nomad). Bestwesterns are the most rider-friendly hotels we've been to. They allow you to park your bike(s) right at the front door which is almost always covered. And the night shift also keeps an eye on your bikes. |

I get a discount as a member of HOG (Harley Owners Group). At the two Best Westerns I stayed at on my recent trip, I was greeted with a complimentary cold bottle of beer at check-in.

CJ, do you have to show your HOG membership card or is the bike itself good enough to get a discount?

One of the benefits of being a HOG member (other than riding a badass motorcycle) is the discounts at a number of businesses. One of them being Best Western. I seem to remember you need a HOG membership number to get the discount, at least if you reserve online like I always do.

I've stayed in these best western's the past few weeks and they all have been nice:
Best Western Cades Cove Inn - 7824 East Lamar Alexander Parkway Townsend, TN 37882 - Very nice place. Has parking right in front of the room so you can keep an eye on your bike. Also has nice rocking chairs outside rooms to chill on and look at the mountains. They let you park your bike up on the sidewalk too under the overhangs. Subway and eateries across the street and minutes from the smoky mountains/foothills parkway. Best Western Carowinds - 3675 Foothills Way Fort Mill, SC 29708 - Only stayed here when the park is closed (offseason), but it was cheap, new, and clean. They let me park my bike on the sidewalk under the front awning right infront of their office window so they could watch it all night for me. Very nice staff. KFC/Mexican/And subway all half a block walk. Right off I-77. Best Western Lake Hartwell Inn & Suites - 1357 E Franklin St Hartwell, GA 30643 - Nice clean rooms and cheap in the offseason. Can park in view of alot of rooms. Food and a walmart/ingles within walking distance.
