I carry in the gun pocket in my leather vest in the summer. In a belt holster in cooler weather.

I carry my clok 9mm in a holster strapped on my right side. NC is an open carry state. Just don't let your shirt or jacket cover it, then it's considered concealed.

On letting a carry permit to expire I do not know about your state but in Tennessee if you do not have a carry permit and are caught with a loaded weapon to be arm either on person or in or on vehicle It is a FELONY could affect jobs retirements and all sorts of stuff I may not have to use it but I will pay their fees because here it cost you a whole lot more to get it back than paying the fee

What's a clok 9mm, a Chinese knock-off of a Glock?

Have several "leg riggs & paddle serpa" set ups, mostly for convenience at the range, would never consider motoring down the road with a gun STRAPPED to my side. IMO, that is a "cowboy" & makeing a statement to boot... Not in favor of showing my ace in the hole anywhere. Pretty sure you roll likewise up there in Cleveland. Was just there yesterday. Not that far from Youngstown.

They will try to make it so expensive for you to own/carry you will knuckle under and give up your right to own/carry.

Our permits used to be lifetime but this new "safe act" changed that to every 5 years.

Holy crap you guys?..............I can't believe what I'm reading here...............you carry guns??
Exersizing you rights is one thing but carrying a gun? Are things really that bad over there? Gun laws are so tight over here that its almost impossible to own a firearm let alone carry one. I recently got a licence for a 177 air rifle to keep the bunny population down on my 5 acre property. This is what I had to do for an air rifle licence: Doctors certificate Had to sit and pass a gun law/safety test with pass mark no less than 80% Had to have a letter from a property owner larger than 10 acres that I can shoot on......my 5 acres don't comply so I'm already breaking the law. Shhhhhhhhhh A complying steel gun case hard mounted to a wall with two complying locks Proof and photos of the case mounted Statement of where the keys will be kept Ammo in a separate locked cabinet Personal police clearance...........no previous offences And a 3 month wait ....cooling off period..........and $240 processing fee plus a licence fee I think is about $95 per year. Policy over here is if the bad guy with a gun wants it let him take it and let the police deal with it .............coz your dead a long time Luckily guns on the streets around here are almost non exsistant. You see we are real men over here................we fight with our fists and wood and bricks and stuff

Imo the best place to carry your firearm is on your person at all times in a place that's accessible. Murphy's law will have you needing it when you left it in your vehicle. I also have a very low opinion of shoulder holsters. Experienced cops don't use them. They look cool on TV but are ridiculously easy to take from you in a face to face confrontation. I would also practice regularly not only shooting but taking it out of your holster. Initially you should practice that unloaded, then later loaded but in a safe location.
