Vaquero AUX lights question.
I am thinking about getting the aux driving lights for my 2015 Vaquero.
QUESTIONS... 1) Do they make a BIG difference 2) Do any of them come in LED or high output instead of the stock OEM 3) Where is the CHEAPEST place to get them. 4) It looks pretty straight forward to install right ? Thanks in advance Mike Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I have a 2015 Voyager with the AUX lights and they make a HUGE difference when on. I live in the mountains and with the AUX lights on it really lights up each side of the road into the tree line. Makes it easier to see if any deer are along side of the road.
The lights are way too bright to have on after dusk as they will blind any oncoming cars. If there is no cars ahead they are great. If you are going to install these with their own switch I would recommend you put the switch so it is easy and fast to access for turning off when cars approach you.

Mike I have installed 2 sets. One o my bike and one on my Buddy's new Vaq. They make a huge difference. Cheapest I found them was on Amazon for $218.I have LED lights all around. Headlight and Aux lights. I can install them blind folded already and have the fairing on in no time. You live close by I would be willing to get them on for you as a favor to a fellow Vaq owner.

Yes they are bright and well worth it. I do not have LEDs but I put in PIAA yellows for my AUX lights and a PIAA white 4000k for the headlight.

They make a big difference. Like a 747 landing. And if they are not set correctly, I had a State Trooper tell me I had really bright lights when I rolled into a sobriety check point on night. They were to high. During the day I can see light reflecting of of the road signs at times. I have been told that the HID lights really make me visible during the day. I put DDM Tuning HID bulbs in using the 5000k light spectrum. They were not a lot of money. Just make sure you have a good ground. As stated they really light up the side of the road. The instructions said to get a part of the light or light frame parallel with the back of the faring if I remember correctly. Set them so the elevation is the same as your low beam, or you will make a lot of people mad. I used the OEM button that fits into the faring on the lower sides to turn them on and off. There are two different ways to install the lights. The first way is by the book or instructions that come with the lights. You have to remove part of the faring. Takes more time. The second way, IMHO, is faster and easier. And I have done it this way, to prove it can be done. Remove the speakers and storage boxes. When assembling the lights keep in mind the lights will be inserted from the front and the mounting framework will go in from the rear. It will work as I have done it this way. Take your time.

The reason you HID's seem bright is because the light beam can't be properly focused and is blinding oncoming vehicles. The light wasn't designed for the stock reflector and you can't retro fit halogen type lights with LED or HID's. THAT us why they are lighting up the side of the road.

I have never had anyone falsh their beams at me from oncoming traffic to let me know I am blinding them.

I set them so at 17 feet the center of the beam was the same as the low beam. The low beam is still factory set.
