Installing coasters and removing vent hosing
Over this winter I installed Wiseco Tuner, which has made a BIG difference in the bikes performance. I'm also running a K&N air filter along with the stock exhaust. I don't really have a desire to go to aftermarket exhaust.
I have a set of coasters on their way from Chuckster. I plan to strip all the EPA off my 2002, 1500 Nomad fi. This Nomad is a California model, so it also has all that extra venting hosing and filter canister behind the left side cover. I have the instructions from Gadget on removing the reed valves and all of the relating hosing, vacuum solenoid, and installing the coasters. That all seems pretty straight forward.. To date however, I've not found much information about all the extra vent hose and filter box removal. Anybody care to weigh in on removing all that nonsense?

I had a California model once and if I remember correctly I just replaced the hoses that went from the tank to the box inside the left cover.
After removing the box I put hoses on the tank and let them hang down below the frame like the others do. I don't recall capping anything off, but it's been several years ago. Not sure if that was the correct way to do it but it didn't cause any issues.

All that extra crap coming off makes things cooler, less cramped to work on....easier to troubleshoot....
