Can you believe we are still riding this late?

Today was amazing. The sun was out and me and a buddy went for another ride through some country roads just north of Portland/Vancouver. No traffic, sunshine, and the Nad. What a blast!

I see the old weatherman is predicting some good weather for the weekend as well (50's + sun). Every time I have parked the Nad in the last month I think it will be my last ride for several months....but at this rate maybe it will only be parked December - Feb!

I got in a good ride last Sunday also....a couple hours anyways. Looks like good weather for Friday and Saturday up here too. I definitely want to ride and break in my new Mustang seat that should be arriving today sometime! I can't wait to see how it feels and if it is as comfortable as everyone says. I hope so for $600.00.... !

Schoeney...maybe we could meet for lunch someplace between here and there...any ideas? Preferable someplace off the beaten path... ;)

Hi Guys,

Hey Kris,

I will be riding with a couple buddies on Sunday...I am not sure where and when we are going. Give me a couple days and I will see if I can get us heading north to somewhere that makes sense and avoids I-5.

Rksaw...thanks for the suggestion!

Greg

Rich,
Thanks for the link. I was thinking somewhere like Yelm (east of I-5) or McLeary (west of I-5). Those towns seem to be about half way between Portland and Everett... looking at Google Earth anyways...and are small enough we should be able to find each other easily.... ;). Just waiting to hear from Schoeney to see what he thinks... :). Maybe BigJohn would like to join me for the ride too, but he might have to get up a little earlier... ;) ;) ;)

Hi Kris,

Looks like I will have to take a raincheck this Sunday. My buddies have their minds set on a ride south of Portland (to meet a relative) so next time I am headed north I will let you know. You and Big John have a great ride!

No worries...have a safe ride. Let's hook up at the Motorcycle show in Seattle for sure.

I put my Mustang seat on tonight but it was too dark and wet to go for a trial ride. I had heard that putting the seat bolts back in was a major PIA with those seats and that is definitely the case.... .

While the stock seats go on and off in seconds with an 8mm socket...you can't even get a socket on the bolts trying to put them back in with a Mustang. The bolts are right tight against the back of the seat. I couldn't even twist them with my fingers. I had to use an open end wrench on both driver and passenger seats to even get the bolts started!

After I had finally gotten it on and was admiring how it looked, I was unwrapping the backrest part when I noticed these two little nylon washers (in a little ziploc bag with some mounting tips) I guess I was supposed to put under the bolts. It was definitely not worth taking them off again just to install those so they will have to wait until the next time I take it off.

The backrest part seems solid and easily slides into place. It also adjusts up/down and foward/back to your liking very easy. I can't wait to ride it... ! I'll give a report after I spend some time on it this weekend!

Kris,
I hope that you enjoy your seat, and maybe you and the misses will have to make a trip south for lunch by yourselves.

I am debating about asking for time off to go up to the Motorcycle Show. I'd like to ride up, but I doubt the weather will be nice that long!!! We've gotten to enjoy it through the Thanksgiving weekend, it's not like it will last forever.

Rich,
Let us know if you plan to make it up. Schoeney and I are planning for Friday afternoon to avoid the weekend crowd.

I'm stoked for this coming weekend of good weather....sunny and low 50's. It will be a great chance to put some miles on the new butt pad... ;)!

Rich + Kris
Riding to the Motorcycle Show in December would be like winning the lottery!
It would be cool if we could all hook up at the show.

Ride safe this weekend.

I got in a good 120 miles Thanksgiving morning...but it was a tad chilly.... low 40's... ! I couldn't wait to get a few miles on the new seat though, so I took a long loop around Camano Island and home again. What a nice ride...I'll have to do that one again when the weather warms up.

Sunday is supposed to be sunny and mid 50's again...so I think me an a couple buds are gonna get on the Mukilteo Ferry by my place and do a long loop up Whidbey Island to Anacortes and back down through Fir Island. The seat feels great and the backrest is awesome!

It rained today, so I did a little mod to my V&H Baggers which I posted in the Nomad garage section. It sounds bad-ass... ;)! Hope y'all didn't eat too much turkey....

Ate way too much Turkey....and potatoes....and desserts. Now I get to do it all over again today (with the "other" side of the family).

The 4F holiday,
Family, food, football, focus on the positives in life.
A great holiday!

Kris, keep us updated on that seat...
