Super nice out, new tires on the Nomad, and yesterday was just begging for a ride. Temperature was in the high 70s with a very light breeze.

Headed toward the Globe area to go some place different. A few special events and the usual weekend traffic slowed things down a little. Still, it did not take too long to clear the valley and the traffic thinned out. The temperature was just right for riding. Turned toward the lake shortly after going through Miami. Not much traffic so I could cruise at a leisurely pace. Several other riders were on the road and none of them seemed in too much of a hurry either. Near Tonto National Monument there was a scenic overlook and a nice place to stop.

Nomad enjoying the scenery.

The visitor center has some interesting information on the surrounding area. Nice place for a break and to look around.

Continued north and then turned back towards Chandler. Coming back I saw another Nomad. We flagged each other down and had a good talk along side the road. (Darn bugs wouldn't leave us alone.) Bob and Sandy have a 2000 Nomad with several modifications. Told them about KawaNOW, so hopefully they will check in and join the group.

Very nice day for riding. Total trip was around 225 miles and averaged 42 mpg. Couldn’t have asked for a more relaxing time. Met some nice riders and saw some beautiful scenery.

WOW, nice pictures and sounds like a great time. Thanks for sharing.

No bugs bugging me around here this time of year. LOL I wish there was though.

That's a nice ride, Mark. I've done it many times myself. There's a nice biker-friendly watering hole called Jake's Corner on the North end of 188, just a couple of miles from the rest area off of 87. They have pretty decent food at a reasonable price, too.
