2008 BMW R1200RT

Thought I would let folks know that I traded my 2004 Nomad for a 2008 BMW R1200RT. I plan on taking some cross country trips and wanted something built for the task. So far I have really appreciated the heated grips and seat in this cold weather. The adjustable windshield does'nt hurt either. This forum really helped me figure out what mods for the Nomad were out there and which ones would work best for me. Keep up the good work and enjoy your rides. Cool blue out.

Good luck with the Beemer, they are really nice bikes. My brother has a K1200RS and he loves it. Ive taken it for a couple short rides and feels like a Ferrari compared to my bike. I can't get over what a light feeling it has for a 1200cc bike, and with 135hp it doesn't take a back seat to too many contenders.

I have a couple friends with BMW 1200's, a couple RT's and a LT. Nice bikes. Only problem I've ever heard of with them is the final drive, and BMW won't admit they have a problem with it. Kind of like the Nomad and the POG but at least MaKaw would do part of the repair on their dime.

Good luck with the new ride, enjoy it and ride safe.

POG?

Cool blue..good luck with your BMW. Good ride. I had an st1100 which rode well and similar an many respects, but my hip was bothering from being locked in one riding position. The Nomad with varying sitting positions solved that for me.

Wouldn't mind those heated grips sometimes though.

Good Luck with the Beemer. Make sure you buy the full riding suit required to ride one. It has to match you bikes color also ;)
Just a heads up, BMW has a problem with the shifter bolt breaking. Shift easy. My buddy has had to replace his on the road on one of our trips. The other time it was only 8 miles to his house so we went there and replaced it.

Nice looking ride.
