I get one almost every year with the bow, and Ive gotten three with the truck over the years as well. They sure are tasty on the BBQ.

Deer Season!
let me quess, Montreal steak sauce? I've hit two over the years, with 4 wheels under me. On my way home from L. Geo. on I-89 North, I came upon a truck on the side of the road and metal spinning in the middle of the lanes. He didn't look like he was thinking steak sauce. I did.

Deer Season!
Had one walking around my backyard this morning. Went out on the back porch and she just stood there and looked at me. She hung around for about 5 minutes, then took off across the creek and into the woods.

Deer Season!
I had the pleasure of hitting one three weeks ago on my bike. Wife was thrown and suffered lots of road rash and a broken wrist.
I got a collar bone that was broken in 4 places, bleeding and bruising of the brain, lots of road rash and now, not only can I not hear out of my left ear very well, I have a broken temporal bone and strained temporal nerves which are resulting in Bells Palsy symptoms. Did I mention short term memory loss? I can't remember. Here's the ironic part. Deer season is not open yet and I killed the deer!! Guess what?!?!? I'm a Game Warden here in Alabama. That's the thanks I get from those suckers when I'm out there trying to protect them. Oh well.......Hopefully, I won't have to deal with that again. |

Deer Season!
I used to have to drive 33 miles through some very rural farm country on my way to work. It's nickname around here was deer ally. Worked that job for a little over five years and managed to hit 5 deer with my cars during that time. But my daughter still holds the record in our family while on her way to a basketball game at the school she managed to kill 3 deer at one time using the family mini-van. Fortunately for the last few years I have been giving my muzzle-loader the job instead of the vehicles. It's a whole lot cheaper and the meat isn't messed up.

Deer Season!
A local motorcylist was killed last week by a deer-strike. Unfortunately, we happen to know that had he worn a helmet, he would likely have survived.
Wear your helmets. You never know when that may be the only thing that keeps you alive. (Just my opinion.) The papers always say... "The vehicle hit the deer"; but that is not what happens in reality. No one intentionally swerves to hit a deer... instead the deer strikes the bike (or car) -- which is why I always call it a deer-strike. Just like a bird-strike on an aircraft. Around here... deer season is 365 days a year... and that isn't even mentioning the turkeys (the birds) you also have to watch for. Those suckers are big and can knock you off the bike easily.

Deer Season!
Yellowjacket, We've got the same thing here. I have to run them out of my driveway before even turning onto the road. Can't shoot them either, but as Elmer Fudd once said........"Be vewy, vewy quiet,......" and maybe one will appear in the freazer.
