New NW member...
Greetings...I posted my new membership info in KawaNOW in the main forum.
Anyone wanting to hit the bricks for a scoot (I'm retired and ready to go any time), shoot me an e-mail. I'm located in Renton, WA (25 miles from downtown Seattle) and do frequent day rides. Typically short rides for lunch, La Connor, Roslyn, Bellingham, those kind of scoots. Over nighters don't work for me. vulcan73@comcast.net

Welcome to the boards, V-73!
I'm jealous of you, I've got at least 20 more yours to go. I like the colour scheme of your Nomad. Cheers, Elvis Quote:

All: Thanks for the greetings!
Click on the photo below to get a better image of the Vulcan and Nomad. I wrote the original article posted on Gadget's web site on the Vulcan's installation of the HyperCharger air filter. That was way back in 2002. Gadget has since edited the article to include any after market filter but kept my name. It remains a good step by step procedure on how to remove the original air filter and replace with an after market filter. I will eventually replace the stock filiter on the Nomad but I haven't decided which way to go. The HyperCharger looks very cool but it does have a weakness which I have not seen mentioned on any web site or review. With the air filter facing foward, the front half quickly plugs up with dirt and debris. The rear half of the filter stays clean so it basically only half works. So much for sucking in air for those "big twin air thirsty" engines. Anyhow, the Nomad is mostly stock with some goodies added as I mentioned in the main forum's posting under New Members. She's one sweet ride!!

Fred,
Thanks for the info on the air filters. Maybe one of these days I'll have enough money to take mine apart and add something more than just the cosmetics. Rich |
