Problem with my Avons -NEW INFO

Now it looks like I have 2 sets of new tires for the bike. What is the shelf life for a set of tires?
Depends on how they are stored.

Store them in a cool dark place with no electric motors or sunlight around them.

here is what continental tire recommends.

I agree. Tried one, roared in turns and finally came apart after 4k miles.

I would store them in dark colored garbage bags lying flat in a climate controlled room. I was told by Good Year that you can store it or use it no longer than 6 years past the manufactured date. I had posted the email that Good Year had sent me. My original question to them was how long I could store a Dunlop SP 5000 195/60-16 because I was told they had stopped manufacturing that size. They are still making them so I didn't purchase one to store until needed.

I had a set of me 880's..put about 5k on them....worst tire ever imo. took them off and straight to the dump so no one else would put them on. I run the cobra radials now..best tire ever imo.. I currently have about 25k km on them..no problems...Bdog

Manufacturers know that due to the internet (and forums like this) a problem with a product and bad customer service can cost them big bucks.
