2011 Nomads In The Valley Rally Base Hotel

OK everyone holding their breath...

MAGGIE VALLEY IT IS

I have a preliminary agreement and rooms blocked at the Maggie Valley Inn http://www.maggievalleyhotel.com/index-html.html as the base headquarters for the 2011 Rally.

I will be visiting the facility soon to sign an agreement and to finalize everything and will let you know when you can begin to make reservations. The rate will be $69/night plus tax and are blocked for checkin 6/13 through checkout 6/17. I will try to arrange a few rooms the day before and the day after also.

There are campgrounds close for those that wish to camp and several smaller hotels in the area if we overrun the availability of the base hotel. Some of the campers on another thread have located http://www.hillbillycampground.com./ . It is about 2.5 miles away and allows tent camping.

I will start a poll to see if we can get a number of those attending and their planned accomodations to make sure my block is large enough. I have some room to add on if needed.


This facility has onsite dining, a lounge, a pool with a tiki-bar and TV's outside for after the riding is over for the day. No need to ride after the celebration of the day begins. There is some covered parking, wash area, cleaning/drying rags will be provided. They also have a large parking area to hang out and to organize rides out of.

The main downtown strip in Maggie Valley is about 2 miles away.

From Maggie Valley:

- Access to the Blue Ridge Parkway is within about 15 minutes
- Deals Gap is a little over an hour
- Mt. Mitchell (highest peak east of the Mississippi)is about 1hr 45 minutes
- tons of some of the countries best riding roads.

HOTEL RESERVATIONS FOR THE 2011 RALLY CAN NOW BE MADE

The 2011 National KawaNOW Rally will be held in Maggie Valley, NC.

The Maggie Valley Inn and Conference Center http://www.maggievalleyhotel.com/index-html.html will serve as the base headquarters for the 2011 KawaNOW Rally. The phone number for the hotel, and to make reservations, is (866) 926-0201. The rooms are blocked under the name "KawaNOW". You will need to mention KawaNOW when making your reservation. I encourage you to make your reservations now if you think you want to stay at the base hotel.

The rate is $69/night plus tax for a double and $79/night for king rooms. The rooms are blocked for checkin 6/13 through checkout 6/17. If you are coming early or staying later these rates should apply also.

CoachA is working on a campground that is close by and will have information on that soon. There are several smaller hotels in the area if we overrun the availability of the base hotel.

It will be here before you know it. Well, maybe not for you TC, you'll be stuck in the house for the next 5 months, which gives you a lot of time to think about it.

On a high note Cindy and I are going on a two day trip to the Catskills today and tomorrow. :)

I hear ya Ray. Looking forward to seeing ya and ridin' with ya again. It will get here awful quick, though............For those wanting to make reservations, it's $69 per night and you have to go ahead a pay for the first night with a $69 deposit and the rest is due when ya check into the motel. And the lady was really nice. I've heard that the land in and around Maggie Valley is a beautiful place to ride.

Almost a no-brainer for me. My son lives in Asheville, less than 45 minutes east of Maggie Valley. How can I not come down to visit both my son & my "nomadic brothers"?
