I have seen this all over the news last couple days but not one station has mentioned the Big red circle with the V in it that he spray painted at the beggining of his suicide.

http://video.foxnews.com/v/4458840/h...board-shooting

Rent the movie "V fo Vendetta"...... its the ICON for revolutionist used in the movie.
One of those make you think movies similar to 1984 or Brazil.... only a more current environment situation implied. Good Movie!!

The guy was trying to send a message that no one has associated to the symbol he painted before he shot at them and killed himself.....

I heard on one newscast that they didn't know the significance of the "V" in a circle.

Our station here showed a video of him painting the v in a circle on the wall. They said it was from the movie.
The thing that impressed me the most about the video is after he ordered everyone out of the room except the board members.
He is standing there with the pistol aimed at the board and this woman comes sneaking back into the room and hits his gun arm from behind with her purse trying to knock the gun out of his hand. After she did that she fell and he looks down at her and says something like, Ginger, get back out of here.
That is one brave woman in my book.

TC I agree that she was very brave but maybe a little dumb. It is a wonder that he didn't shoot her. Guess he didn't really want to kill anyone except himself. Can't help but feel a little sorry for the guy. Some people have a rough life and people that have never had problems don't know what he faced. I'm not saying what he did was the right thing to do.

I don't think that guy wanted to kill anybody but himself. Geez, he was nearly at point blank range with still targets. He could have killed or at least wounded everyone in the room. He had plenty of time and no resistance until the security guard returned from retrieving his weapon from his car in the parking lot. When he didn't shoot the purse wielding lady, it immediately revealed what the nature of his mission was.

I heard or read something about guns not being allowed in the meetings. I suppose the security guard was there just to keep the school board members from fighting eachother. This security guard was a class act. Very humble stating that he wasn't a hero and also offering his sympathy to the family of the shooter.

I think by him painting that symbol and what it represented, he was trying to send a message with him killing himself as the period at the end of the sentence.
If you have seen the movie I think you would see the method in his madness, all be it insane, I think he thought he was trying to be some sort of martyr sending a message of the government is out of control.

Unfortunatley... if he had a message it's lost. They arent even saying what promoted him to go there in the first place and he is classified as just another nut.
