Just came across this, haven't been on much lately. My deepest sympathies, losing a child has to be one of life's toughest. Time will help but will not remove all the pain.

Doc, I hardly read this section of the board. I'm the daddy of an only son and I'm sure I can't even began to realize the depth of your emptiness and hurt. I just wish I had the words to somehow console you in this very difficult time.

I haven't read the whole thread yet, but I'm sure it's been said. Take all the time you need to mourn and make sure you get on here when you can. Typing and talking are about the best therapy out there.

I pray that the Lord will see you and your family through this quickly.

Doc,
So very sorry to hear of your loss. We lost our oldest son on 30 Jul 08. He was 38 years of age and left a wife and three sons. It certainly is a heartbreaker to loose a child. Everyday I think of him. I see him in my grandsons faces, thank goodness. Although we miss him dearly, my wife and I know we will see him again in eternity. You and yours can expect the same.

Thanks 1badbagger for the great song. I have to admit I got choked up listening to it. Thought of Dennis and how he must feel. Thought of my only son and how it would kill me to lose him. Dave I didn't realize you lost a son. I am so sorry to hear that. Wish I had words that could make both of you feel better but at times like these no words can never really do that. Dennis and Dave just know that you and your families are both in my thoughts and prayers.

Thanks for your thoughts and prayers Gene, and everyone. I am sure Doc appreciates it too. I found out one thing in the grieving process..... many people shy away from mentioning your loss because they don't want to hurt your feelings. But that has never been the case for me and my family. I really appreciate someone saying they are sorry for our loss. It kind of shows a love you don't normally see between people. BnG
