I think it is safe to say that all NCR members are in mourning for a great lady whose life was tragically cut short. RIP Mel.

I have talked with Don several times over the last few days. He wanted me to let everyone know he greatly appreciates all of the condolences and that they helped him a lot during his time of grief.
Don said Mel's memorial service was beautiful and that the funeral home was overwhelmed with the number of people that arrived -- causing them to frantically attempt to accommodate everyone. The large number arriving to pay their respects to Mel is but one testament to how her life touched so many. Don is heading to Mel's hometown in Mississippi where there will be another memorial service for family and friends there. I have no doubt the outpouring will indeed be as large. Don said he will respond to everyone once he can gather himself to do so. I told him there was no hurry as everyone understands. As Gibby stated, the NCR group has taken the loss of Mel hard. It may be hard for some to understand why some of us here in the North Central Region have been so impacted by Mel's passing - especially since we have only been with Mel and Don on two rallies (beside talking to them on the phone or email). If you would had the chance to spend some time with her it would be easy to understand. Our group bonded fairly strong in those few short days together. So again, Don thanks everyone from the bottom of his heart for thinking of him and his family in this terrible period of grief.

In Memory
I want to take a few minutes & just say Thank You from the bottom of my heart for all the kind words that were posted regarding the passing of my wife, Melody Marchbanks.
It is because of friends like glwilson & wife, biscuits & gravy & wife, dmac & wife, stretch, Rayski, Gibby, all of a few that Mel & I were able to ride with to & from MV They make a time like this a little more bearable. I have read the postings from many members & even received some cards in the mail from a large number of Vulcan Bagger members. This just reinterates what a great idea Trip had when KAWaNOW was born. It is because of his hard work among many others that we were able to come in contact with such great people this forum has put together. All I can say is if you have spent any time with Melody it will be a time you will not soon forget. Please keep her alive by remembering the good times, that is what she would want to happen if it were anyone else. Again thanks for the support. Don M 1600bluekaw |
