Vaquero question
I am thinking about buying a Vaquero to replace my nomad.
Does the hitch for the nomad fit on the vaquero? Cant find that information. I sometimes pull a trailer and don't want to give up that capability. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

Chuckster makes hitch for the 1700.
He list the Nomad and Voyager as bikes it will fit. That suggest to me that it won't. Perhaps Joe can tell you if it will.

If the "stock" hitch Joe makes won't fit, I'll bet my paycheck he can make one that does.

One way to be sure would be to measure from center to center of mounting bolts on the hitch. Then go measure the mounting bolts on the bags of the Vaquero. Just a suggestion.

Part of the problem may be the size of the rear fender. I think the Vaquero rear fender is longer (deeper?) than the Voyager or Nomad.

Thanks. Where there's a will there's a way.
I have seen a few 2011 vaqueros at pretty low prices so seriously considering buying one. Helps that the guy who rode to maggie valley with me wants to buy my bike. Planning a sturgis trip this year and really don't want to experience problems like i did when i was trying to go out to crescent city last year. |

I use a Marvellas Trailer Hitch on my Vaquero, I think the one you have now for the Normad will probably not fit.
Since I did put Cobra Tri-Ovals on my Vaquero and they are wider than stock or other aftermarket Slipons, I had to modify the Marvellas brackets to fit and not hit the Cobra Tri-Ovals

I had one of Joe's hitches on my '06 Nomad. I replaced the Nomad with a 2011 Voyager after the Nomad was taken from me last August by an idiot driver. Prior to purchasing the '11 Voyager, I checked with Joe to see if the hitch on the Nomad would fit the Voyager and, unfortunately, the answer was 'no'.
However, if I'm not mistaken, I believe he said that he did have one for the Voyager. Hope this helps. Ron |
