quick thinking by the bus driver. He must of figured it was going to happen. But bicycles are a hazard on the road. You would never see me riding in the middle of the lane, bad enough on the side of the road.

What a dangerous place to ride a bike, but that does not excuse the driver from trying to run from the scene. Bet he sh*t himself when the bus blocked his escape.

I have been stuck in traffice jams caused by bike riders going 5 mph on a 45 mph road... no curtousy extended to cars or anyone else, another one of those rights things.
So on one hand its kind of rude and stupid of the guy on the bike to ride impeding traffic on a bridge.........BUT it was really stupid of the guy in the car to try to run after an accident turning it into a hit and run situation. You can see the way people are switching lanes to try to get around the hazard in the road and back up to motorized vehicle speed and the cars directly behind them dont see the obsticle until the car in front of them gets out of the way.....sort of like when a ladder falls off a truck ona highway... someone is going to draw the unlucky straw of hitting it..... maybe even better senerio you see on crash videos, car stalls in lane, car runs into it from behind. Happens all the time. Thats why they advise you to not stay in your car if its broke down...even on the side of the road.

Bikes should not be on busy streets. Bus driver did a good thing.

The guy in the car probably didn't count on that happening.

That's just the sort of reasoning that Mayor "McSchwin" in Seattle used to change several busy (narrow) 2 lane roads to a single somewhat wider car lane and a bicycle only lane. It might make more traffic sense to let the cars have both lanes when no bicycles are present, and then let the bicycle have a whole lane when they need it. It's definitely "Safer" for the cars to have a lane and the bikes to have a lane.
