Wheel Chock??
Ok,
So I was looking for something to hold my bike upright while doing oil changes, etc, and I bought the harbor freight wheel chock. (the black one) The good news is, it holds the bike up great. The bad news is, the only way I can get my bike out of it is to disassemble the chock. I have tried 3 different adjustments, and every time I have to get my wife to help take it apart while I hold the bike. Any ideas for something simple I can use to hold my Voyager upright to do oil changes, check fluid levels etc? Apparently the chock was a waste of money.

We use the same wheel chock here, and we can pull the bike out of it, It does take a good effort to get it out though. Perhaps you could drill a new pair of holes that will make it easier for you to get it out.

Patricia and I use this one
http://locknloadwheelchocks.com/ They are adjustable for different tire sizes. One good tug and you're free.

Thanks. I think I'm gonna play with this one a little more and see if I can make it work.

They are considerably more $$$ than the Harbor Freight ones, but we like them.

What are you paying for the Harbor Freight chock? Wheeldock were great to deal with and on sale. Can use it on the trailer as well. $199 on sale still.

Got it for a little over 40 bucks. Finally got it to work. Looking at the chock from the side with the bike in it, it looks loose, but the bike is in it solid. When I use it, I'll still strap the bike down for added security.

I think I have the same one:
http://www.harborfreight.com/motorcy...ock-97841.html It works great, but I drilled two holes in my floor to drop pins in and hold it still while I drive in or pull it out. A guy I work with bolted his to a sheet of plywood long enough for the whole bike. So driving on, you don't push it across the floor, and taking off it can't scoot with the bike. |
