May be moving, got advice?
Hey guys, the maps of the regions are REALLY small, but it looks like this region would include Cincinnati. Let me know if I'm wrong.
I'm currently being considered for a job transfer within my company to that area. I can live where ever I choose, but don't know what areas are good. Got any advice? I'm guessing we'll be in a price range up to $220,000 ???? That's the max in my head, but I don't know the tax rates, and I'm sure it's better than I have already in Illinois! As I explore online, the homes I see for sale are nothing like what we have here in the St Louis Metro. My potential job would focus around Florence, KY. My wife will need to find a job too, she teaches English as a second language, typically at some sort of college or university. Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky ??? My company is in all 50 states (plus almost 200 countries) so my paycheck will come from which ever state I live in. You guys are awesome! I don't care what all the other regions say about you . . .

I would look at the State income and sales tax rates.
I live 5 minutes from the Washington/Oregon border. Washington has no state income tax but Oregon has 9%. Washington has a 8% sales tax.....Oregon has no sales tax. So most that live in WA buy their stuff in Oregon. If they don't get your tax dollars they can't spend them!

Wow...if you have never been to the Pacific NW....you should check it out. There is no more beautiful place in the country my friend, not only for riding, but for all the eye candy you get to see every day! I look west I see the Olympic Mountains...look east we have the Cascade Range. In between is the Puget Sound, full of islands, boats and the glory of the Good Lord. Choose wisely. On a side note...there are TONS of Asians and Hispanics who could use a lesson or two in English...!

I look forward to a change of scenery though. Southern Illinois has been quite a buzz kill for motorcycle riding. There's a few good roads, so I find myself riding to just a few destinations over and over again.

I've lived in the area most of my life, it's a good area, better than the Ohio side..but you will need to adapt to the language, this is their actual Water Tower

I currently live just a few miles from East St Louis, which presents its own language problems. Luckily, my wife teaches English as a Second Language (ESL), and she's never at a loss for work.
