belt noise

Been hearing belt for 4000+ miles. Today i moved rear tire/wheel forward 1/16 th inch, guess what....all noise gone. Seems like new bike now that i've cleaned it and stopped the belt noise, man whata difference.

Sounds like it may have been a tad tight. Glad you got it fixed. As time goes by you may need to go the direction after the belt stretches and wears some.

Got 9000 miles on it now, how many before it stretches to it's max or does it continue for the life of the belt?

I doubt those belts stretch much if any at all. If they are a Kevlar compound they won't stretch.

From George James.

I did the same thing yesterday, loosened the belt by 1/16th and the belt noise has gone.
Evidently I tightened it took much after a new tire install.
