belt noise
Been hearing belt for 4000+ miles. Today i moved rear tire/wheel forward 1/16 th inch, guess what....all noise gone. Seems like new bike now that i've cleaned it and stopped the belt noise, man whata difference.

Sounds like it may have been a tad tight. Glad you got it fixed. As time goes by you may need to go the direction after the belt stretches and wears some.

I doubt those belts stretch much if any at all. If they are a Kevlar compound they won't stretch.

From George James.
"Been hearing belt for 4000+ miles. Today i moved rear tire/wheel forward 1/16 th inch, guess what....all noise gone. Seems like new bike now that i've cleaned it and stopped the belt noise, man whata difference". I did the same thing yesterday, loosened the belt by 1/16th and the belt noise has gone. Evidently I tightened it took much after a new tire install. |
