Americade 2013
I spent four days in Lake George for Americade this year, soggy weather obviously kept a lot of people home or they used their car/truck. Never seen so many cars during the rally, it was harder to find a parking spot.
Parking was expensive as they now collect 10$ to park in the field that they rent from the state of N.Y., it used to free. The parking pass for 10$ and put a sticker on the bike, (good for the week) is still the way to go though. They must have charged the vendors more money, as there was less of them than I have seen before in the Tour Expo locations and more in the outlying towns. The demo bikes were being used constantly so that is a good thing. I talked to the Indian rep and checked out the Indian display, they even had the American Pickers find of a 1935 Indian that they brought to Sturgis to sell. It was purchased by a V.P. from Indian and is now touring with their display. It did rain there, but on Weds., Thurs., Sat. and Sunday that I spent there, I didn't get wet. As usual the local restaurants served up some fine food with reasonable prices. Yeah! We all had a great time. http://s1080.photobucket.com/user/gl...?sort=4&page=3

Yes Gerry, they did up the price for venders.
Last year at Americade I talked to the guy who painted my other Nomad. He said it was not worth paying what they wanted and would probably set up in a close by town this year.

It sounds like they are pricing themselves out of reach for most people. That has happened in Sturgis as well and neighboring towns are seeing more business as a result.
Especially the campgrounds in the area.

Americaid is one of those things I've never hit but I'm only a few hours away. make an annual lake George ride but never during peak hours/ days. Someday I'll make it.

To be honest, I always have a good time there because my two sons that ride, spend time there with me. This year the oldest grandson (12) made the annual father & son fun time.
If you haven't been there and plan to go, do it before they move it elsewhere because of the rocketing cost of having it in N.Y.
