Is this necessary??

2001 Nomad 1500 Carb'd:

This morning I removed the tank to re-route the power plug cables, and in the process, noticed that this wire harness was disconnected except for one wire, which was connected to this part directly behind the radiator hose on the throttle side. I'm wondering, a) what part is this and b) can i disconnect it? The extras on my bike are a lightbar, batwing with stereo, and the power plug. I've wired all of these on other bikes, so I know it's not part of one of those. Any help is appreciated.

In pic 2967, you can see the green wire is the only one connected. The others are not.

In pic 2968, you can also see it connected, but the view is from the throttle side below the top frame bar. I can easily disconnect it, but I'd rather figure out what this part is before doing so.

That isn't STOCK wiring, so you will have to follow the wires to see where they go. beat's me.

looks to me like some one ran relay wires to that and only used the ground wire. I would check around the battery or right side cover for the other end of these wires, but that is what I think they are.
