Have you heard?
Hi to all the Western Canada members.
Not sure anyone or everyone has seen the thread going on for a combined rally with NW, SW, and Western Canada next July. Have a look and post your thoughts. I'd also like to suggest that, if we have the interest, we could have a gathering of our own. But I see so little posting from our Western Canadian members I wonder if this is even something you want to do. Anyway,.... leave your thoughts on any of this here and or be sure to look at http://vulcanbagger.com/forums/showthread.php?t=34860 Ride safe my friends

Might not be bad as long as there was actually a couple of fellow Vulcan owners to travel with and the weather is good enough in mid June to get out of Alberta.

I might be able to hook up with you. But there is "canuck rider" { Al } and a few others in your area aren't there?? Let's get members thinking and talking about some rides/rally's. There hasn't been a lot of chatter about this type of thing from the Western Region for a while. Maybe a small meet in my area { the Cariboo} with rides up to Barkerville ....Quenell or maybe the old but newly paved Duffy Lk Rd up to Whistler/Pemberton region. Just some ideas..

Ricky,
I'm always in for a ride somewhere. Just depends on the dates and location. Vacation time to do everything may be the biggest challenge but can probably sneak in an extended weekend (Friday through Monday) sometime in the summer.

Any time off between June and Sept, other then weekends is a major issue with my employer. I am pretty much stuck with local adventures, for the most part.

I'm in for a ride anywhere in B.C or AB. as long as I'm on days off (6 at a time).

Kaslo, New Denver & Nelson area offers up some good roads and scenic riding opportunity. Kaslo Golf Course even caters to bikers,(club rental discounts etc.) at least they did a few years back.

#12 south of Missoula looks like a nice ride to get there. If you want to break it into more reasonable riding days that is.

I'm listening ....it all sounds interesting. Keep the ideas coming in. I'd like you guys to decide what, where and when you want to do. Once we get a feel what the majority want to do and when. We can start to get things going maybe. Better hurry though,.... I still can't commit because of my employment and if I'll be retired or still working. A small meet and greet somewhere for a day or so and a "free to choose" ride would suit me fine. Maybe sit around and do squat and drink beer for a day or so and then go our separate ways and head home. ALSO !!!!!,...keep in mind the combined rally we've been asked to join in if we choose to.

If they're having it I'll try to go. It's a great location for us. Hard to say what happens in a year though. The last one I had the hotel booked, the time off and the bike ready. My wife getting sick was the biggest draw down on that one. Not her fault or mine, these things do happen as you know.

I would like to suggest Victoria, Vancouver Island area and even taking the ferry down to Port Angeles and do some sort of round trip......just my thoughts for now. Okay, I'll now add to my own thoughts. How about the sea to sky highway run up to Whistler, Pemberton areas, or over to Seachelt and the Powel River area.

Every one of those are great suggestions Kevin. The ride to Whistler and back are an easy day ride. We could head up the Sea to Sky and beyond, taking the "old Duffy Lk Rd"coming out just north of Cache Creek. From there you could head north to my neck of the woods, OR.....head back down south and take "the canyon" [ #1 Hwy ] back towards Vancouver. I've done the Whistler run and back to the lower mainland in a day...... which included riding up to the 108 for a coffee and THEN ! back to Vancouver. There are lots of options ....from where we come out after the Duffy lk road we could head to Kamloops and beyond and/or then back to Vancouver...via the Coquihalla Hwy,...........great suggestions
