I had custom adapters for the 1800 shocks made when I put them on my Streak so I didn't have to worry about swapping bushings in or out. Just put the adapters on and install the shock. I'll pop one of the shocks off the Nomad and see if the VTX shock will fit. Give me a day or so though.

I'm sure it could be made to fit without a lot of problems, most likely it they fit the Meanstreak, they will fit the Nomad.

The Mean Streak OEM shocks are 13.5", Nomad are 13". VTX 1800 are 12.5". Some people have swapped out rubber bushings, but it's difficult and there is a risk if damage. Also, the top of the VTX doesn't have as much clearance. By simply adding rubber bushings, they have to be shimmed away from the bike, and even then are likely to rub the frame. The adapters I had made are single piece stainless, and they make the install very painless and fast. I'll see if they will fit for sure.
