No I use the Yamaha dealer locally and they have always been good with my installs. However, I will call Mike tomorrow and see if I can get a 2nd opinion.
I have already checked the wheel and it's fine. A chopstick clamped to another wheel stand works great for that. I knew that was unlikely as I did not have a problem with the old tire and have never had a "confrontation" with anything like a pothole before. Besides the Nomad wheels are pretty solidly built. I also took the time to check the brake rotors and they are also both good.

I had a good look at the bead this morning and also noticed the tire pressure had dropped again. At the suggestion of my bike mechanic friend I took it too a local shop that has a good Coutts dynamic balance machine and they popped the tire off then wire brushed the rim on the bench grinder. The tire was re-mounted and re-balanced and bottom line is the tire was not mounted properly and now it is. They showed me where there is a high spot but not bad and there is a little runout. They only charged me for the wheel balance which was awesome. I will go back there.
I got it home and checked it free wheeling on the front axle. Then I rode it, and it is for sure, better now. Time will tell but there is not much time left in my riding season.

Nope the boulder took out my left engine guard and cracked my rad a little bit. I'm good! Those signs warning of rocks falling down slopes will be more real to me now!
The chopstick is very analog. Works for pokin' and holding electrical and stuff you don't want to mark up. I keep 2 in my saddle bag just in case of mechanical problems or good Schezuan.

Armed with one of those and an abacus, there is not much you can't do.

Yah thanks you needed to remind me Duffy
You never know what will keep you on the road in an emergency. Like flattened coke cans and pipe clamps to keep my broken V&H rear header together to get me home. Adapt and overcome. You available for breakfast tomorrow??

I got the Venom X out for a real good run today getting 180K on them before I started sliding them into some higher speed corners I know on rural roads out in the valley nearby. Sweet! I like it on the front.
The Venom X is much better in low speed handling and just does not care about tar snakes which is a bonus for sure. At higher speed corners it is far better than the Stones. I loved the transition from left to right in the S turns. Felt more like a sport bike but it's time to firm up the front forks now. My verdict is it's a great match to the Avon Cobra on the rear.
