FYI, she went to prison. Here's a link to see sentence and potential parole dates.
http://www.azcorrections.gov/inmate_...ype=SearchInet As you see from the link information, she was not in prison until January of 2013. I guess the trial dragged out for a long time, but this thread may still have followers.

Wow, that was a long time ago. I had never heard what happened to the driver. Thanks for the update.

Folks... Statistic have shown officers are only able to stop one in about 3300 drunks at any time. There are far more drunks on the road than America has officers on the road. Yes, drunks are out 24/7. I have been fighting DUI drivers/events since 1995. Prior to making sergeant I was assigned to our enforcement/traffic unit. My best night was 11 when working with my partner. I averaged 2-3 per shift.... I've had two many friends and relatives killed by drunks to give any leeway. I find someone under the influence they go to jail. Simple... This includes meds, drugs, or alcohol. It gets old scraping body parts of innocents off of the pavement due to an intoxicated driver. I have handled things I hope no one will ever have to see themselves. Death by stupidity is so senseless!
I'd be interested to see the outcome of this case. Each state has different laws concerning vehicular homicide. In Kansas! it's a misdemeanor rather than felony.... I'll continue to do my part to try and keep the roads safe... As far as riding at night... I'm fine with it during spring, summer, and fall. Once the deer start moving, I park it. Also... Most motor officers work from sun up to dusk. Too dangerous during the dark of night! Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I'm sure she will have plenty of time to think about she did while she's in prison.
