Question about installing grips.
Is it really necessary to apply glue when replacing grips on a Voyager.
This is my 19th new motorcycle but my first cruiser, I have replaced quite a few grips and have never used glue. Appreciate the input. Login or Register to Remove Ads |

I used hair spray, held great for years. Just spray inside the grip and slip it on.

I don't think you need to have hair to buy hair spray.

I've always made sure my bars are really clean, and used compressed air to get the grip on. by the time they start to slip, they're worn out and ready to be replaced.

The ISO grips have a rubber sleeve so I just squirt some windex in the grip and slide them on, Let it dry and they are a bear to get back off. But you can get them off
My new avons have set screws and you are supposed to use grip tape that they send with them

Silicone works well. When you want the grip off, a hard, quick twist will loosen it up. The only grip you'd need anything for is the clutch side.
