I replaced an Craftsman a couple of years ago with a Husky Pro Series upright (bigger than what you're looking for) from Home Depot. It was a "display" sale so I got a really good price and they provided all the missing hardware. I've been happy with it.

I've got this Kobalt I bought 10 years ago. It's a nice compromise. I did my homework and bought the most powerful (most CFM and largest tank capacity) for a 110 VAC compressor at my price range (paid $350). Rule of thumb with compressors is buy the biggest one you can afford and have room for. They never have enough cfm or capacity it seems.
Like I said for a 110 VAC unit, this one works very well. Only had one issue with it 5 years after I bought it and I fixed it myself for no money. I use it a lot with paint sprayers, DA sanders, die grinders, air chisels, body saw, air drills, impact gun, sheet metal shears etc etc. It's gotten a lot of use. Just make sure to check the cfm rating on the tools you buy to make sure the compressor has enough power. Cheaper tools typically require more cfm to run. Lowes is one of my customers. I just came away from a store that had this same compressor so they still carry it. Price was $380. Whoops almost forgot. This compressor is much much much quieter than the pancake or single stage direct drive compressors. It's belt driven, the compressor itself is cast iron and is oiled. It makes a huge difference on how quiet they run and how long they last. The specs on that Quincy that jestephens put up are fantastic for a 110 VAC unit. Develops 8.3 CFM @ 40 PSI; 7.4 CFM @ 100 PSI The $650 puts that one out of my price range. Still amazed they can get that kind of power out of a 110 unit.
