Progressive Shocks
Hello folks,
I'm installing a set of 416 Progressive Shocks on my '03 Nomad. I took my old shocks off and it looks like I just have to bolt these right on. The bushing int he shock is already the correct size. I have been told that I need to use washers on the top and bottom of shock but I don't see how this would work? The instructions with the shocks are pretty terrible. Anyone have any input? Thanks for the pointer. Very confusing considering the rubber goes around both ends of the shock. I guess I could trim the rubber a bit as it seems the bushing is actually just shorter than the width of the rubber.

I have the 412's..same idea ..use a couple washers on the inside..this will line the shock up with the bottom mount.

Hey Bdog, since you are a fellow Canadian maybe you could make him some custom spacers ? If I had the dims I'd make em but it would cost him more to have them shipped.

Previous owner of these sent me 8 washers that he said he used with these 416's on his Nomad. I'm having trouble understanding where he used them on the shocks but I think he used all 8 on the top mounts? As you can see by my picture 4 are smaller washers and have a small hole and 4 are larger washers with a larger hole. Would one assume that two larger washers went on the inside and the two smaller washers were on the outside? What about the chrome washer and lock washer that came on the factory shocks?
Again, the instructions that came with the progressives are probably some of the worse I have ever seen. I've contacted Progressive support and they are non-existent as well. |

My 412's bolted straight on. No washers needed.

I was told if you don't use the washers they will bind. Will see in a few months when I get back out on the road how it goes.
