Riding Alaska - 2014

OK - So I am back up here for my Reserve Duty . . . Got out for a 2 1/2 day ride last weekend . . . Glad I rode last weekend because it is low 40's and windy and rainy here now . . . which means that it is cloder and snowing in the mountains. The mountains off base didn't have much snow on them when I arrived 2 weeks ago, but they are now snow covered and I can see that it is still coming down . . .

Anyhow here are some videos from my ride last weekend:

First my one of my Standard photo videos:

Followed by a compilation of video shot with my Contour HD along the Denali Highway:

And last but not least, a 7 minute video containing the longest 5 or so minute ride of my life - riding through the clouds along the Richardson Highway at Thompson's Pass:

Enjoy!!!

That must have been amazing. And that machine looks more fun than an amusement park ride. Thanks for sharing.

It definitely was a fun machine . . . My normal long distance riding buddy is riding out here next month - from Connecticut . . . without me (JERK). He just retired from the Fire Department and that's his retirement gift - He wants to take his Ultra Classic over the Denali Highway and up the Dalton Highway (which I rode last year on a KLR 600). I'm telling him he doesn't want to take the big touring cruiser over all that dirt - it gets tricky sometimes even on a bike built for that . . . All the roads I have ridden out here have offered amazing views, some nice sweepers and a few twisties . . . Its a great place to ride!
