Quite possibly a brand new bike for the price of one of them.

I see those kind of loads around here quite often, taking tires up north to Ft. McMurray for the large Cat trucks that they use in the oilsand mine pits.

You wouldn't want one of them to fall off the truck in front of you!

They haul them from plant to plant on some piss poor road without straps. The rubber sticks to the trailer (and other tires) pretty well, especially new. Honestly, the straps are there for public perception (and the occasional DOT inspection) more than actual cargo management. We have a tire warehouse a couple miles from me. They deliver (farm) tractor tires on flatbeds without straps all the time (about 15 miles one way).

BTW, if one falls off a truck, it...just...stops. It doesn't bounce and doesn't slide much. If you're following very close, you're GONNA hit it. Hope you're not on a bike.
