Dad was transferred this evening from Kamloops back to 100 Mile Hosp.. Things seem to be improving but the ol' guy has a ways to go yet. .....He was getting pretty depressed in Kamloops and was so glad to be "home" in 100 Mile House hosp.. I surprised him with a late visit after getting the news that he was back in town. He had the biggest smile on his face I've ever seen. I think he had doubts he would ever get back "home" . Having said that it's unlikely he'll ever be back in his house though. Now the work begins to get his strength [or some of it] back so he can be somewhat mobile and be able to make a move to the coast to live.
I can't start to explain how it feels to get the support from all of you..... thanks again for your thoughts and best wishes.

Good morning to you all. Well unfortunately,... I have now had to make it official and canceled my room for the rally. As many of you know, I have had some family issues come up that are not going to allow me to attend. I'm sad about this but there is always next yr.. I hope you have a great time and hoist one for me, I wish I was going to be there.
Thanks again to all of you for your kind words and thoughts. I just want what's best for my Dad {and Mom} regardless of what happens.

well if there is anyone out there interested or wondering....
here's the latest..... My dad has been released from the 100 Mile House hosp, and is now at home. ....as of a week last Tuesday. He's getting stronger but not the same guy he was ...for sure. MY sister and I have been working on getting both Mom and Dad into a retirement home in Victoria [ for the last month ] Finally yesterday we got a response from a private place that will accomodate both of them. So with my Mom that has dementia, kicking and screaming, we are scheduled to move them Sept. 3rd/4th to Victoria BC.. We need to get them moved ASAP before anything else goes south health wise or the weather turns cold and the snow begins to fall. .... Those of you that have gone through this with your own folks know all to well the stress and concern that goes with this. ...I am relieved that we now have a home for them and that my sister can get back to what resembles her life before she came here to the 108 back in May. Her work will continue for a while yet after the move ....getting them settled. I will be making a rtn trip to see them in late Oct.. ........ what else can a guy do??? Many thanks for your best wishes and prayers
